Mykolaiv may receive additional funding for the purchase of nine more autonomous trolleybuses from the Danish government.

This was announced during a briefing by Yuriy Smetana, director of Mykolaivelectrotrans.

Denmark has already provided a grant of 3.9 million euros for the purchase of nine PTS trolleybuses. Six of them have already arrived in Mykolaiv and are preparing to start running, and three more are expected in the next two weeks.

Yuriy Smetana also noted that a preliminary agreement was reached with the mayor of Mykolaiv that Denmark would provide additional funds for the purchase of nine more trolleybuses, which will allow the contract for the purchase of 40 trolleybuses to be fully completed. According to the agreement, the Danish government has already purchased 18 of these trolleybuses.

Recently, Yuriy Smetana said that tram and trolleybus fares in Mykolaiv would be raised on March 1.

Currently, a ticket in the city's electric transport costs UAH 8 in cash and UAH 7 for non-cash payments.

In addition, Yuriy Smetana said that the total losses of the company have already exceeded 180 million hryvnias, and the amount is approaching 200 million.

Mykolaiv has also decided to expand the network of city electric transport routes. According to the changes, there will be a new trolleybus route No. 8 connecting Budivelnykiv Street with the Matviyivka neighborhood. The length of the route is 27 kilometers and the full circle length is 49 kilometers.

In December last year, the city launched a new trolleybus route No. 1, connecting two remote neighborhoods - Severnyi and Kulbakino. Four modern PTS trolleybuses with an autonomous range of up to 20 kilometers operate on this route. The schedule is designed to accommodate peak hours to ensure comfortable passenger transportation.
