In Mykolaiv region, a sanatorium school was transformed into an academic lyceum for children from the affected areas. It is expected that the academic lyceum will become an educational center for communities where schools are currently unable to operate and will provide children with a quality education in comfortable conditions.

This decision was considered at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Industrial Policy, Entrepreneurship, Transport Infrastructure, Water Management, Energy and Energy Saving, Communications and Digitalization.

The Mishkovo-Pogorilovske sanatorium boarding school, which until now belonged to sanatorium educational institutions, will be reorganized into the Ingulsky Academic Lyceum. These decisions were made as part of the government's reform of internal institutions, according to which sanatorium schools are to cease operations by July 25, 2025.

According to the plan, the transformation of the school will allow us to preserve not only the institution, but also all the staff and infrastructure, which has long been in need of modernization. After the transformation, the lyceum will continue to educate children from the most affected areas of Mykolaiv region.

The main goal of the transformation is to preserve the educational institution, its staff and material and technical base. The students will continue their studies at the school and, after the security situation stabilizes, will live in its boarding house.

The transition from a sanatorium school to an academic lyceum will begin in the near future, and within a few years it is planned to fully implement a new model of the educational institution that meets the requirements of the modern educational process. The final decision is to be considered at the 27th extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.

Recently, a new temporary educational space was opened in the region for the student community, which was severely damaged due to armed aggression. This space provides everything necessary for children to study comfortably, including not only formal education classes, but also clubs, workshops, media literacy training, mine safety courses, and career counseling.

At the same time, Mykolaiv continues to equip modern shelters in schools and kindergartens. We have completed the repair of a protective structure in a school in Ingul district. The shelter is equipped with a medical room, drinking water supply, new furniture, board games for children, sanitary facilities and can accommodate 500 people.
