Mykolaiv region presented land plots for alternative energy sources. It is planned to attract foreign investment to develop the region's green economy.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

In the Mykolaiv region, a number of topics were discussed as part of the Dialogue between Government and Business platform, including economic development of the region, security, support for veterans, and other issues.

According to Oleksandr Korolev, Director of the Economic Development and Regional Policy Department of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, the platform allows for direct communication between government officials and entrepreneurs. Six meetings have already been held. Seven more meetings are planned by the end of the year, covering the development of resort areas, energy development, financing opportunities, interaction with the State Labor Service, labor relations in wartime, and partnerships with veterans' organizations.

Among the main topics raised by entrepreneurs are difficulties in booking employees, a shortage of qualified personnel, tax policy, and access to state and local business support programs.

One of the key areas for Mykolaiv region is the development of distribution generation facilities on vacant Greenfield land plots.

The Investment Opportunities of Mykolaiv Region website presents 78 offers of land plots where alternative energy facilities are planned to be installed.

Mykolaivoblenergo is to prepare technical calculations and estimate the cost of using them for the facilities.

The head of the regional military administration , Vitaliy Kim , emphasized the importance of local communities actively working with investment proposals:"I will personally promote these land plots among potential investors. The interest in them already exceeds the supply."

Currently, all the proposals are available on the website, and any investor can familiarize themselves with them. We are also preparing to translate the information into foreign languages to attract international partners.

As of today, 25 solar power plants have already been installed at social infrastructure facilities in the city, and 29 at utility companies. By the end of 2024, seven cogeneration units are planned to be installed. More than 40 energy efficiency projects are planned to be implemented through cooperation with businesses and donors.

Ukraine and the United States also decided to launch three innovative projects with small modular reactors. The total budget of the initiatives is $30 million. Despite the Chornobyl tragedy and the occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, the state does not stop investing in nuclear energy development and aims to triple its capacity by 2050. The main focus is on small reactors due to their advantages, including mobility, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
