Mykolaiv has introduced new tariffs for public transportation. Preferential fares for students and schoolchildren will also be introduced. In particular, schoolchildren will be able to travel free of charge during martial law.

The decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council.

Starting March 1, 2025, new tariffs for the transportation of passengers and luggage in public transport will be introduced in Mykolaiv. The fare for trams and trolleybuses operated by Mykolaivelectrotrans will be UAH 10.

First of all, the cost of travel tickets for different categories of passengers will change. For those who buy a one-time ticket from the driver, the price will be UAH 10. For a one-day tram and trolleybus ticket via QR code, the price will be 25 UAH. Discounts for single tickets will also be available: tickets purchased through a QR code or at kiosks will cost UAH 8, and for students - only UAH 5 per trip.

Tourists will be able to use special tickets: for two days via QR code - 60 UAH, for a quarter - 1200 UAH. Students will be able to purchase monthly travel tickets: for trams or trolleybuses - for UAH 250, and for both types of transport together - for UAH 300. The number of trips for two types of transport - tram and trolleybus - will be used for discounted transportation.

Mykolaiv has also set new tariffs for passenger transportation by shuttle buses. The fare for transportation of one passenger within the city will be UAH 15. For the route to the neighborhoods of M. Korenykh, V. Korenykh, and Matviyivka, the fares will be higher: 18 UAH to Matviyivka and V. Korenykh, and 20 UAH to M. Korenykh.

During the martial law period, school-age children will be able to use public transportation for free. After the end of martial law, from September 1 to June 1, the fare for students will be UAH 10.

During the year, Mykolaivelectrotrans plans to open two new trolleybus routes, build a new trolleybus line and repair several tram crossings. The company has already begun preparatory work, including the arrangement of a control room and the purchase of necessary materials.

Meanwhile, last year Mykolaivpastrans announced a series of procurements aimed at improving the city's public transport, including insurance services, bus repairs, fuel, electricity, auto parts, and security system upgrades.
