In 2025, the Mykolaiv Education Department spent more than UAH 223 million on heating, repairs, internet, security, and transportation of students. Most of the money was spent on heating, maintenance of security systems, and routine repairs of schools and kindergartens.

Intent decided to use the Zakupivli.pro procurement platform to find out how much the Mykolaiv City Council's Education Department spent on budget funds in 2025.

At the beginning of the year, one of the most expensive services ordered by the Education Department of Mykolaiv City Council was the purchase of heat energy, for which they planned to spend UAH 158 million. Another UAH 17 million was spent on electricity, UAH 8 million on water supply and sewerage, UAH 5 million on coal, and UAH 5.1 million on waste management. Distribution of natural gas and maintenance of heating stations cost more than half a million hryvnias.

More than UAH 7.7 million was spent on routine repairs to schools and kindergartens, including repairs to roofs, windows, doors, utilities and shelters. In particular, 547 thousand hryvnias were spent on repairing the protective structure in kindergarten No. 66 alone.

Separately, about 3 million hryvnias were spent on equipping computer science classrooms at Mykolaiv gymnasium No. 50, gymnasium No. 56, lyceum No. 28, lyceum named after Professor M. Aleksandrov and lyceum No. 2.

Routine repairs of heating, electricity and water supply systems cost another UAH 1.1 million. The budget also included UAH 3.3 million for transportation services for students, UAH 879 thousand for textbooks, and more than half a million for the installation of electric lifts for children with disabilities.

Tenders were also held for the maintenance of security systems. More than UAH 700 thousand was allocated for video surveillance maintenance, and more than UAH 12 million for automatic fire alarm systems. Maintenance of lightning protection systems cost 1.9 million hryvnias, and the Internet cost 1.6 million hryvnias.
