Mykolaiv has decided to reconstruct a center for stray animals. It is planned to spend almost 60 million hryvnias on this.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.
The project was initiated by the Mykolaiv City Council.
Mykolaiv has launched the project "Reconstruction of the Municipal Enterprise "Animal Protection Center", which aims to improve the situation with stray animals in the city. The main goal is not only to improve their living conditions, but also to improve the quality of life of animals and to form a culture of humane treatment among citizens.
The project involves several important tasks:
The project budget is UAH 59 million 800 thousand. Of this amount, 49 million 800 thousand will be spent on capital expenditures and 10 million on operating expenses.
The project aims to improve the lives of stray animals, reduce their number on the streets, and educate Mykolaiv residents about responsible attitudes towards animals. The project is currently in preparation and looking for funding.
More than two million hryvnias have already been allocated from the Mykolaiv city budget to repair the stray animal enclosures for the Animal Protection Center. The repairs should be completed by the end of February next year.
And in Mykolaiv Oblast, they came up with an idea to create a modern hub out of an old boiler room. They plan to raise more than UAH 17 million for the reconstruction of the building. It is planned to reconstruct the boiler house into a multifunctional hub in Voznesensk.
The hub will provide participants with access to new knowledge, financial support, mentoring and networking, which will help them achieve their goals and grow their businesses faster. The main functions of such a hub include training, cooperation, innovation, and attracting investors.
It was also decided to create an environmental and energy park in Ochakiv. It is planned to raise UAH 180 million for the project. The goal of the project is to restore and build infrastructure. To increase energy independence, solar panels will be installed at the facility to provide it with electricity.
