Medical institutions have been reorganized in Mykolaiv. This will improve the provision of primary health care and the fight against socially dangerous diseases.

The decision was supported by the deputies of the fifth session of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The Mykolaiv City Council has made an important decision to reorganize the city's medical institutions. The Center for Socially Significant Diseases will be reorganized by merging with the Primary Health Care Center No. 2.

The purpose of the reorganization is to improve the provision of medical services, including primary health care, treatment, prevention and diagnosis of socially dangerous diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, parenteral hepatitis and others. The company will also take over the management of medical care for the population and take measures to prevent diseases and support public health.

In addition, the charter of the Primary Health Care Center No. 2 was approved, which will regulate the company's activities.

According to the explanatory note, this decision will be another step in improving medical services for Mykolaiv residents and will contribute to more efficient management of healthcare resources.

The city currently has 18 medical facilities providing primary, secondary and specialized care. Last year, they treated more than 50 thousand patients.

In 2024, thanks to funding from the city budget and support from international partners, a number of projects were implemented. They opened a renovated X-ray room in Hospital No. 1, completed the renovation of the surgical department in Hospital No. 5, created a free dentistry room for children with special needs, and equipped an oxygen network in Maternity Hospital No. 3.

For 2025, the city has allocated over UAH 200 million for healthcare. The main emphasis is on supporting hospitals, maternity homes and benefit programs. It is planned to build a children's diagnostic center with a bomb shelter, create a rehabilitation center for war victims at Hospital No. 4, and reconstruct Maternity Hospital No. 3 to create a Level II perinatal center.
