A Mykolaiv utility company has announced a tender for the reconstruction of water supply in the Korabelny district.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

Mykolaivvodokanal has announced a tender for the design, supply, and construction and installation works for the modernization of water supply networks in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv.

This project is being implemented as part of the initiative "Unrevenue Water: Reconstruction of the Water Supply System in a Selected Area of Mykolaiv, Ukraine". Funding is provided by a grant from the Government of Denmark through the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DMFA) with the support of the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO in Ukraine).

The pre-tender meeting is scheduled for December 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., and the tender will be accepted until January 20, 2025 at 18:00.

The tender is divided into three lots:

It is also stated that tenders for contracts financed by the DMFA grant are open to firms and individuals from any country.

In September, NEFCO and the Mykolaiv city administration signed a new grant agreement for the reconstruction of the Korabelnyi district's water supply system. Currently, residents rely on emergency water supplies, which are organized mostly by trucks, desalination of water from the Dnipro-Bug estuary and new wells.

Thanks to the Danish funding, more than 70,600 residents of Korabelnyi district, including about 6,800 internally displaced persons, will benefit from better water supply conditions.

The project includes several key activities. Firstly, approximately 11 kilometers of pipes are planned to be replaced, which is about 8% of the total network in the district. Secondly, it is planned to install 55 main meters with remote data collection in multi-storey buildings. Finally, the project involves the replacement of pumps at three pumping stations. These changes are expected to save the municipal budget approximately 93 thousand euros per year.
