Mykolaiv has allocated more than UAH 189 million from the budget for sports development. They also plan to build shelters in sports facilities, reconstruct and build a new sports town.

This is evidenced by the draft city budget for 2025.

The main goal of the city's Physical Culture and Sports program is to create conditions that will encourage residents to engage in sports, promote a healthy lifestyle, and combine the efforts of local authorities, sports organizations, and sponsors. In 2025, UAH 189.26 million will be allocated to implement this program.

Of the total amount:

In addition, funding of UAH 160.65 million is planned for 2022-2025 as part of the comprehensive program "Physical Culture and Sports". These funds will help develop sports infrastructure, organize competitions and popularize sports among the residents of Mykolaiv.

UAH 22 million 700 thousand are planned for the development of the Program of Economic and Social Development of Mykolaiv for 2024-2026. Of this amount, UAH 4 million 200 thousand was allocated under the budget program for the construction of protective structures and shelters.

UAH 18 million 500 thousand has been allocated for the repair of sports facilities.

The plan is to reconstruct the track and field arena of the Mykolaiv Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Athletics Reserve; reconstruct boathouse No. 1 of Children's and Youth Sports School No. 2 with a gymnasium extension; build a new civil defense structure on the territory of Children's and Youth Sports School No. 2; and build a new sports town at 4 Heroiv Ukrainy Avenue.

The decision to ensure the safety of children in sports schools in Mykolaiv was made in September at a meeting of the executive committee. All children's sports schools were analyzed and the question arose as to which facilities would accommodate children studying in these institutions in the event of air raids.

Recently, a new gym was opened in the Voznesenska community as part of the ADAPT project, which aims to support adaptive sports for different categories of people. The main goal of the project is to enable people with disabilities to play sports, improve their health, and adapt to social life.
