Mykolaiv Oblast has planned to modernize its lyceum canteen. It was decided to raise more than UAH 36 million for this purpose.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

It is planned to reconstruct the dining room of the Kolosiv Lyceum of the Veselynivka Village Council in Tokarivka village.

The project was initiated by the Department of Education, Culture, Tourism, Family, Youth and Sports of the Veselynivka Village Council.

The goal of the project is to provide schoolchildren with proper quality meals.

According to the description of the canteen reconstruction project, school meals are crucial for maintaining the health and success of students, so having a modern and high-quality canteen is a prerequisite for creating comfortable and safe learning conditions.

First of all, the canteen provides children with a balanced diet, which is especially important during the period of active growth. Modern canteens allow us to prepare meals that meet the requirements of a healthy diet, taking into account the individual needs of students, such as allergies or other characteristics. The use of the latest equipment and compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards help to significantly reduce the risk of food poisoning and other diseases. In addition, upgrading the canteen can stimulate the overall development of educational infrastructure, attract more students, increase the prestige of the school, and help build trust with parents.

The project budget is UAH 36.2 million. It is noted that the funds are planned to be raised during 2025.

According to the Ukrainian online analytical system YouControl, the company was registered in 2021 with a registered capital of UAH 100 thousand. The company earned UAH 3 million 236 thousand 300 from public procurement.

The canteen reconstruction project has been underway since January 2025 and requires funding. The estimated duration of the project is 10 months.

Mykolaiv also decided to insulate the kindergarten to improve its energy efficiency. For this purpose, half of the required amount was allocated from the city budget. The reconstruction of the institution was planned back in 2017. In addition, the city plans to renovate the pupils' creative center, which is to be turned into a modern innovation center. For this purpose, more than twenty million hryvnias are to be raised. As part of this project, the non-profit organization Mykolaiv Water Hub is to be located in the creative house.
