The Kyiv District Court of Odesa found the serviceman guilty of influence peddling and fined him three thousand tax-free minimum incomes, which is 51 thousand hryvnias.

As stated in the court' s verdict, the soldier promised to help the man avoid mobilization in exchange for USD 16,000.

Thus, in mid-December 2024, a more precise date and time have not been established, the man was stopped by employees of the territorial center for recruitment and social support to check his military registration documents. During the inspection, he was taken to the office, but then released, emphasizing that he would be contacted in the future.

Later, the man was indeed contacted, after which his girlfriend met with representatives of the TCC and they said that they could resolve the issue of his mobilization.

The serviceman told the evader that he had influence on his medical staff, who would resolve the issue of complete discharge from the Armed Forces of Ukraine with further deregistration.

The man agreed to this, but appealed to law enforcement agencies with a statement about the crime. So, when he was transferring the money, the serviceman was detained. The court took into account the sincere repentance of the accused, his status as a combatant and the presence of two minor children, which became the basis for mitigation of the punishment.

Earlier, three heads of the regional mental health center were detained in Odesa region. They are suspected of selling fake medical certificates of serious mental illness to conscripts.

For a monetary reward, which ranged from 10 to 20 thousand dollars per client, they provided conscripts with fictitious certificates of serious mental disorders, which allowed them to pass the military medical commission without personal presence and avoid mobilization. Some of the "patients" were even registered as disabled for further travel abroad.
