The metal detector frames with luggage belts next to them were photographed by an Intent correspondent at the Odesa railway station.

The structures look as if they were prepared for the opening and are now being set up.

Intent asked the Odesa Railways office for a comment, but they said that in order to get information, a written request should be written. The company's headquarters has not yet commented on the matter either.

It should be noted that such metal detectors have been operating at Kyiv Central Railway Station since June 2022, at Kharkiv Railway Station since August of the same year, and at Dnipro Railway Station since October.

In particular, in Kyiv, a comprehensive inspection system was installed at the station to improve passenger safety, which includes two stationary metal detectors ("frame"), four X-ray television introscopes, handheld metal detectors, and a mobile X-ray television unit.

In January 2025, the Security Service of Ukraine reported that an attempt by Russian special services to commit a terrorist attack in Odesa region, namely the simultaneous explosion of the administrative building of a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a car parked nearby, had been prevented.

Meanwhile, the Security Service of Ukraine has classified the explosion at the police station in Bilyayivka on March 23 as a terrorist attack. The explosion killed a woman who allegedly carried a bomb into the police station and injured three police officers.

In May 2024, a railroad crossing guard noticed a relay cabinet on fire. Thanks to her quick reaction and the use of a fire extinguisher, the railroad worker quickly extinguished the fire. The incident occurred when a freight train was passing along the track. According to preliminary data, the fire could have been the result of an intentional arson attack by unauthorized persons.
