President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the Mayor of Chornomorsk Vasyl Huliaiev with the Order of Danylo Halytskyi.
The corresponding decree was published by the Presidential Office.
Vasyl Huliayev is a Ukrainian politician, Member of Parliament of Ukraine of the VIII convocation in 2014-2019. He has been the mayor of Chornomorsk since 2020. He is a member of the "Renaissance Party" parliamentary group. In 2015, he was appointed the head of the Odesa regional organization of the "Renaissance" political party. In 2019, he left the "Renaissance" party. He was one of 59 MPs who signed a petition on the basis of which the Constitutional Court of Ukraine abolished the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on illicit enrichment, which obliged public officials to provide explanations about the sources of their income and the income of their family members.
The Order of Danylo Halytskyi is a state award of Ukraine intended to honor servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, as well as civil servants for their significant personal contribution to the development of Ukraine, conscientious and impeccable service to the Ukrainian people.
Vasyl Huliayev was the only one on the list to receive this particular award, but in total, 38 officials were awarded orders, medals, insignia, and honorary titles.
Among them, the Orders of Merit III degree were awarded:
63-year-old Anna Azegova died as a result of Russian shelling of Kherson on January 27, 2023. A shell hit a car with two people in it. Anna died on the spot.
