Mass murder of TCC employees in Mykolaiv: the Center for Public Advocacy refutes Russian fake

Pro-Russian telegram channels and websites are spreading information about the alleged mass murder of TCC employees in Mykolaiv. This is another Russian fake, nothing like this happened.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCI).

According to the fictitious story, a resident of Mykolaiv region "shot seven TCC employees", "defended his house for sixteen hours" and "died during the attack".

As emphasized by the AntAC, this is a completely fictitious story - nothing like this happened in Mykolaiv region. The information is not confirmed by any official reports or independent sources.

According to the Center, such fictional stories are a typical tool of Russian information operations. The purpose of such fakes is to create the impression of "massive resistance to mobilization," to sow fear among the population, to undermine trust in government agencies and to destabilize the mobilization process.

The CPC called on Ukrainians not to spread unverified information and to use only official sources.

It is worth adding that Russia is constantly spreading fakes, inventing scary stories to sow fear and distrust among people. They often come up with unrealistic events that did not actually happen. The goal of such fakes is to destabilize the situation and undermine trust in government agencies.

For example, earlier Russian propagandists spread disinformation about a 'retaliation operation' in Odesa against Ukrainian police officers. The messages, accompanied by fake photos and videos, claimed that the operation had killed a mobilized person and one of the law enforcement officers allegedly involved in 'forced mobilization'.

The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council also officially denied this fake, stating that it was part of a broader and larger disinformation campaign by Russia.

In February 2025, Russian propagandists created a fake about the "revenge" of the TCC in Mykolaiv.
