Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Tretiak Appointed as Kherson Commandant

Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Tretiak has been appointed as the commandant of Kherson region. Prior to that, he served in special forces units of the military law enforcement service, including the Southern Territorial Directorate.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration , Oleksandr Prokudin , said in a video message.

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On the Introduction and Implementation of Certain Measures of the Legal Regime of Wartime" of 08.07.2022, the commandant is an authorized person of a military administration body appointed by an order of the military command or military administration (if established).

The commandant is authorized to organize and ensure measures during the introduction of curfew and the establishment of a special light camouflage regime in the territory where curfew and/or a special light camouflage regime has been introduced.

He also coordinates the actions of the forces of units and military command and control bodies of the Armed Forces and other military formations of law enforcement agencies (units), executive authorities, local governments, military administrations (if established) in such territory.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration also said that his deputy had resigned at his own request, but did not specify who it was.

Oleksandr Prokudin was appointed head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration on February 7, 2023. Prior to that, he worked as the head of the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.

In this position, Prokudin replaced Yaroslav Yanushevych, who held it from August 2, 2022, to January 24, 2023. From July 9 to August 3, Dmytro Burtii was acting head of the regional police. Prior to him, the regional administration was headed by Hennadii Latuha since October 2021.

On January 19, it became known that Anton Yefanov had been appointed deputy head of the Kherson City Military Administration to Halyna Lugova. He will be in charge of humanitarian aid. Prior to that, Anton Yefanov was the head of the Kherson City Center for Social Services for Family, Children and Youth.
