Three city hospitals in Mykolaiv plan to establish supervisory boards. The City Council has already approved the creation of a permanent selection committee to screen candidates for these bodies.

Members of the Mykolaiv City Council voted in favor of the corresponding resolution during a session.

The resolution was supported by 29 council members; four abstained. No one voted against it. A total of 33 council members participated in the vote.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said that each supervisory board will consist of 11 members. Five of them will represent the city council as the founder of medical institutions, meaning they will serve on the boards on behalf of the council members.

According to Senkevich, the decision pertains only to the creation of a selection committee, not to the supervisory boards themselves.

Additionally, based on the results of reviewing the proposals, a recommendation will be prepared regarding the composition of the selection committee, the regulations governing the supervisory boards, and the list of institutions to which these regulations will apply.

The supervisory boards will serve as a new mechanism for overseeing the operations of city hospitals, in which city council members will have a direct say.

As reported by Intent, law enforcement recently detained a former member of parliament who organized a scheme to evade mobilization by using personal connections at medical institutions in the Mykolaiv region. He was detained along with an accomplice.
