On Thursday, October 10, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed in the second reading the draft law No. 11416-d, which provides for an increase in taxes. Almost all MPs from Mykolaiv region expressed support for this decision.
This is evidenced by the results of the roll call vote during the regular plenary session.
The draft law provides for an increase in the military tax rate from 1.5% to 5%, as well as the introduction of an obligation to pay this tax in the amount of 1% of income for single tax payers of the third group.
For individual entrepreneurs who are single tax payers of the first, second and fourth groups, a military fee of 10% of the minimum wage, which corresponds to 5% of two minimum wages, is established.
In addition, the basic corporate income tax rate for non-bank financial institutions, except for insurers, is set at 25%.
These taxation features will be in effect until December 31 of this year, when martial law will be terminated or lifted.
Among the representatives of Mykolaiv region, the draft law was supported by David Arakhamia, Oleksandr Pasichnyi, Oleksandr Haidu, Artem Chornomorov, Iryna Kormyshkina, Maksym Dyrdin, Ihor Negulevskyi and Iryna Moshenets.
Ihor Kopytin did not attend the vote.
Overall, 247 MPs supported the law, 40 voted against it, 11 abstained, and 26 did not vote.
More than 1,300 amendments were submitted to the tax increase bill.
In early September, Mykolaiv MPs also supported a bill to increase tax rates. However, the Verkhovna Rada did not receive the required number of votes in the first reading for the draft law No. 11416-d to increase taxes by UAH 30 billion.
At the end of August, the Parliamentary Committee on Finance approved as a basis the revised draft law on amendments to the Tax Code regarding the peculiarities of taxation during martial law.
The tax service recently released the number of millionaires in Mykolaiv region. This year, 303 millionaires were recorded in the region, 190 more than last year. These individuals declared income of more than UAH 1 million and paid more than UAH 25 million in personal income tax and more than UAH 2 million in military duty. The main sources of income for millionaires are foreign income and profits from the sale of movable and immovable property.
