The serviceman who died in the morning of February 6 in an explosion on Akademik Korolyov Street in Odesa could have made an explosive device on his own and planned a terrorist attack commissioned by the Russian special services.

This was reported by Int journalist Yulia Khymerik, citing sources in law enforcement.

Law enforcement officers did not rule out that the deceased was involved in the arson of three military vehicles in Odesa ordered by representatives of enemy special services. The videos were posted in a pro-Russian public disguised as Ukrainian resistance. After that, he received another assignment.

On the morning of February 6, according to Intent's sources, he planned to leave an improved explosive device in the designated place. But instead, he accidentally blew himself up when he moved away. The explosion resulted in a traumatic amputation and he died on the spot.

The Security Service of Ukraine has classified the car explosion in the Kyiv district of Odesa as a terrorist act and has already opened a criminal investigation.

The day before, a court remanded three men in custody without bail who were detained by an SBU officer in Odesa on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks against military personnel and their families. The attacks were to be carried out through the remote activation of homemade bombs. Initially, the defendants had been tracking the residences of Ukrainian defenders and parking lots for a long time. Later, they received the coordinates of a cache from the federal security service, from which they took two improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The criminals planned to plant both bombs at the entrance to the apartment of two servicemen of the Defense Forces.

The SBU CI detained a 55-year-old former law enforcement officer from Odesa region on suspicion of organizing explosive caches to be used for terrorist attacks.

The Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa is considering the case of 19-year-old Serhii, who is accused of the terrorist attack. According to the investigation, he planted a homemade explosive under the car of a military prosecutor, acting on the instructions of the FSB.
