A military man from Kherson is suspected of passing data on Ukrainian soldiers who were stationed in Odesa and Mykolaiv to the FSB. He also sent secret documents to Russian special services.

This was reported by Intent with reference to the decision of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the investigation, a native of Kherson, who served in a military unit, established contact with representatives of the Russian special services and for several months passed them military information.

From June to August 2025, the soldier used the Signal messenger to transmit information about the location of the Ukrainian military to a representative of the Russian Federal Security Service. In particular, he reported on the location of military personnel of one of the military units in Odesa. For this information, the man received 2200 hryvnias in reward.

The investigation also found that in November 2025, he photographed documents related to the military unit's activities. Among them were an excerpt from a combat order and a plan report with a top secret stamp. The next day, the suspect sent the photos to his FSB interlocutor, for which he later received another 4,000 hryvnias.

In addition, on the same day, the man, being in a car near one of the fitness clubs in Mykolaiv, filmed the commander of a military unit. The recording captured the moment when the officer was leaving the club and getting into the car.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized cell phones, a laptop and other media. According to the investigation, the devices contained correspondence with representatives of Russian special services, screenshots of transmitted materials, as well as photos of official documents and equipment.

In addition, the military was charged with illegal acquisition and storage of weapons and ammunition. During a search at his place of residence, law enforcement officers seized a pistol, hundreds of rounds of ammunition of various calibers and other ammunition that had been stored without proper permits.

Investigators also note that during interrogations, the man confirmed that he had communicated with a representative of the Russian special services and had passed on information about the deployment of the Ukrainian military. At the same time, the man did not admit his guilt in court and refused to provide explanations. His defense insisted on changing the measure of restraint to house arrest.

As a result, the court extended the suspect's detention for another seven days - until June 9, 2026 inclusive. The court did not set bail.

Also in May, a man and his mother were convicted in Mykolaiv of collaborating with Russia and passing on information about Ukrainian military facilities. Their actions led to a rocket attack on a residential building that killed seven people, including a child.
