A local resident who convinced residents of Burhunka in Kherson region to "vote" for joining Russia was suspected.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Beryslav District Prosecutor's Offices, the resident of the region was notified of suspicion of collaboration (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A custody was also imposed as a measure of restraint.

According to the investigation, the 66-year-old suspect voluntarily joined an illegitimate "precinct election commission" operating in Burhunka, Beryslav district. The woman took part in the organization and conduct of a pseudo-referendum organized by the occupation authorities, which took place in September 2022. With the lists of "voters", a portable ballot box and ballots, she made door-to-door visits to local residents to convince them to "vote" for the accession of Kherson region to Russia.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that Kherson police investigators had served a local resident with a notice of suspicion for organizing the educational process according to the standards of the aggressor country. During the occupation of Kherson, a 42-year-old local resident voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the invaders. The suspect became the "head of the department" of one of the faculties of the educational institution seized by the occupiers. Currently, she has been served a notice of suspicion of collaboration in absentia. The woman faces three years in prison.

It was also reported that the "head" of the occupation administration of Novosofiyivka will be tried in Kherson region. The investigation established that in August 2022, the accused cooperated with the occupiers and agreed to become the "head" of the so-called "Novosofiyivka settlement of the Holoprystan municipal district of the Kherson region".
