Kherson region suffers from Russian attacks

(armyinform.com.ua/)

Kherson region is suffering from enemy attacks that have intensified recently. They mostly take place in the island part.

This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine.

"It is 2-3 times higher compared to the previous weeks. Instead of 2-3 attack attempts per day, the Russians are now making an average of 6 to 11 attempts," the spokesman said. Voloshyn added that the purpose of these actions is obvious: to seize certain footholds and keep them under control.

"Of course, it is not easy to do this, because there is no way to dig in on these islands - you dig and the water is already coming. It is also impossible to build any kind of shelter there. But the enemy is trying to do all this," noted the Defense Forces spokesman.

The shelling does not stop, but it is mostly carried out with the help of drones and has the character of targeted terror - the enemy mostly hits local residents and civilian infrastructure, not military targets.

"They are trying to create a "dead zone" along the coast. That is, to destroy all the fortifications and shelters so that we have no place to stay," he explained. The spokesman notes that it is symbolic that the Russians are storming Kherson now, after having fled there in the fall of 2022.

We also wrote earlier that the rise of corruption is also a kind of assault. " Money laundering in the construction of shelters has raised a number of questions in the Kherson Oblast Audit Department.

A thorough inspection is currently underway. The auditors of the Southern Office are asking for information and documents that confirm the justification of the amount of money allocated for this project, why such materials, technologies and standards were chosen for the construction of the shelter, and how the cost was calculated.
