Kherson Oblast plans to rebuild the water supply system that was destroyed by the war. The project is worth more than UAH 58 million, but is still less than 2% funded. The work will include replacing water towers, laying pipes and reconnecting nearly 600 residents to quality water.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the DREAM ecosystem.

A project for the reconstruction of the centralized water supply system was presented in the village of Kucherske, Beryslav district, Kherson region. The project was initiated by the Borozen village council.

The water supply system in Kucherske was severely damaged as a result of Russia's armed aggression. Now it is operating in emergency mode: worn-out water towers need constant repair, there are frequent gusts, water is lost and its quality is deteriorating. As a result, residents are forced to use decentralized water sources, such as wells or boreholes with poor quality water.

The goal of the project is to improve the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the village, provide a stable round-the-clock water supply and create conditions for the return of residents, as well as promote economic development after the war.

The total cost of the project is more than UAH 58.1 million, of which only about UAH 927 thousand (1.59%) has been confirmed so far.
