In the Mykolaiv region, a soldier promised, in exchange for money, to influence the TCC and the VLC

In the Mykolaiv region, a military officer was detained for promising men, in exchange for thousands of dollars, to help them get their names removed from the wanted list and avoid mobilization.

Thiswas reported by the State Bureau of Investigations

According to the Bureau, the soldier used his contacts to find men who had violated military registration rules and offered them assistance.

He claimed to have influence over officials at one of the district military registration and enlistment offices and the Military Medical Commission in Mykolaiv Oblast, as well as over members of the military medical commission.

The suspect charged between 6,000 and 8,000 dollars for his services. In exchange for this money, he promised first to have the man removed from the wanted list and then to help him avoid mobilization on health grounds.

The serviceman was detained after receiving the second installment of the money.

He was notified that he is suspected of receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision of a person authorized to perform state functions. This falls under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The penalty under this article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment.

The issue of imposing a preventive measure on the suspect is currently being decided. Investigators are also identifying other individuals who may be involved in this scheme.

Incidentally, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police recently detained a former member of parliament who, according to the investigation, offered conscripts $10,000 to obtain a fictitious disability status in order to avoid mobilization.

To do this, he planned to use his personal connections at medical facilities in the Mykolaiv region. The former MP was detained along with an accomplice.

 In addition, Intent learned that a Mykolaiv court refused to suspend Dr.Zakhar Tkach from his duties; he is suspected of issuing a fraudulent disability certificate for a person subject to military service. The prosecutor argued that the doctor’s continued employment could hinder the investigation.
