Detectives of the BES Territorial Department in Odesa region have completed an investigation into unpaid taxes in the amount of UAH 4.7 million.

This is reported on the official website of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.

"It has been established that the director of an enterprise located in the Bolhrad district deliberately failed to declare in 2024 the income received from the cultivation of 5.6 thousand tons of wheat, with a total value of almost UAH 26 million," the BES information resource says.

The detectives found out during the investigation that the company's actual income was much higher than indicated in the financial documentation.

The head of the company, which specializes in growing grain crops, was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional tax evasion).

During the ongoing pre-trial investigation, the entrepreneur paid the entire amount of damages to the state.

However, the criminal proceedings were sent to court with an indictment.

Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office provided procedural guidance.

Meanwhile, members of the Odesa City Council, members of the Commission on Planning, Budget and Finance, decided to allocate more than UAH 60 million for the Department of Transport. The funds will be used to pay salaries, reconstruct the cable line and purchase equipment for traffic lights.

Another 9.6 million hryvnias will be allocated for the reconstruction of the cable line, and 20 million will be spent on backup power, controllers and 14 units of traffic lights.
