A fire broke out at the Epicenter hypermarket in Odesa

A fire broke out this morning in one of the "Epicenter" chain's hypermarkets in Odesa. The fire occurred amid yet another Russian attack on the city using rocket-powered drones.

At this time, the exact cause of the fire and the circumstances under which it started are unknown. 

As of now, five people are known to have been injured as a result of strikes on warehouse facilities in the Odesa region. Specifically, a 26-year-old woman, a 44-year-old woman, and three men aged 30 to 52 sustained injuries. Three of them have been hospitalized in moderate condition. All of the injured are receiving the necessary medical care.

Meanwhile, Odesa has been under attack by Russian drones since early this morning. According toOleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, the strikes targeted food storage facilities and energy infrastructure. Private homes have also been damaged, and fires have broken out. No information on casualties has been received so far.

Cleanup efforts are underway at the sites of the attack.

The day before, on August 23, in the Odesa region, a Russian attack drone struck the locomotive of passenger train No. 147 travelingfrom Zhytomyr to Odesa. Before the attack, the “Ukrzaliznytsia” monitoring team issued an evacuation order in advance, and the train was urgently stopped on the tracks.

Thanks to the prompt response, passengers, the train crew, and the locomotive crew were evacuated before the strike. At the time of the attack, there were 593 passengers on the train, including 15 children.

On August 22, the occupiers struck the headquarters of the Odesa-based “Chornomorets” club. None of the people inside the building were injured.
