The occupiers struck the headquarters of the Odesa club "Chornomorets"

On the night of August 22, the Russian Federation’s army once again attacked the “Chornomorets” training base in Sovinion, a suburb of Odesa. No one was injured, but the building sustained significant damage.

This was reported by the soccer club’s press office.

As a result of the nighttime attack, the “Lustdorf” sports and recreation complex—better known among fans as theChornomorets training base in Sovinion sustained significant damage.

None of the people inside the building were injured. Club officials speculated that more serious consequences were avoided, in part, because nearly the entire team, coaching staff, and personnel were traveling by train at the time to a Ukrainian Cup match.

Experts are now assessing the extent of the damage and calculating the losses. The club has already begun cleaning up after the attack and documenting the damage.

Due to the attack, soccer matches will not be able to be held at the facility in the coming days. This weekend, “Lustdorf” was scheduled to host two matches in the 1/32 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.

“Chornomorets” emphasized that this is not the first time the training facility has been targeted by a Russian strike.

The previous attack on the facility occurred in February 2025. At that time, the sports and rehabilitation complex sustained significant damage: windows in the swimming pool were shattered, the administrative building was damaged, and glass shards covered a large portion of the grounds. Vehicles belonging to club employees and representatives were also damaged.

The club also recalled the recent missile strike on the “Chornomorets” stadium, which resulted in casualties and disrupted sporting life in Odesa.

“We are beginning to clean up the aftermath of the strike. We are documenting everything. Stay tuned for updates. Support the defense forces and stay safe,” the club’s statement reads.
