In Odesa, 10 million to the budget was collected from a construction company

Detectives of the territorial department of the Economic Security Bureau in Odesa region have completed a pre-trial investigation against the director of a construction company.

According to the BES press service, the man is suspected of organizing a scheme to evade value added tax in significant amounts.

It was established that the director of the company deliberately included in the tax accounting transactions for the fictitious purchase of cement, mineral powder and adhesive additives from a number of companies in the amount of almost UAH 60 million, but in fact such transactions did not take place.

As a result of these actions, the construction company unreasonably formed a tax credit in the amount of almost UAH 10 million, which significantly reduced its tax liabilities for value added tax. As a result, the state budget did not receive UAH 10 million of tax, which the company has already fully reimbursed and another UAH 1 million was transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Nevertheless, the company's director was notified of suspicion of intentional tax evasion. If found guilty, the man faces a fine of ten thousand to fifteen thousand tax-free minimum incomes with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.

Vitaliy Vitikach, a former deputy of the Odesa Regional Council, also signed an agreement with the prosecutor to plead guilty to illegal enrichment.

On April 9, the High Anti-Corruption Court approved a plea agreement concluded between the SAPO prosecutor and a former deputy of the Odesa Regional Council. The official had pleaded guilty to acquiring assets significantly exceeding his income before being served with a notice of suspicion and initiated the plea agreement.

It was about the real estate acquired in 2023-2024, namely a residential building and buildings located in a dacha construction cooperative in Odesa region. The value of these assets is UAH 11 million 21.8 thousand higher than the legitimate income of the regional council deputy.
