In Mykolaiv, a court imposed a preventive measure on a teenager suspected of firing a gun on a trolleybus and injuring a passenger. Initially, investigators requested that the boy be placed under nighttime house arrest, but the court ruled that the risks could be minimized with a less restrictive measure.

The Central District Court of Mykolaiv issued the corresponding ruling.

According to the case file, the incident occurred on September 25 at approximately 8:37 p.m. on trolleybus route No. 2 near the intersection of Zakhysnykiv Mykolaiva Street and Tsentralnyi Avenue. According to investigators, a conflict arose between the suspect and one of the passengers, after which the young man pulled out an air gun, outwardly resembling a Makarov pistol, and fired at least five shots in the direction of the victim.

The court ruling states that as a result of the shooting, the victim sustained gunshot wounds to the area of his right eye, neck, and outer ear.

The teenager himself gave the court a different account of the events. According to him, before the conflict, his friend ran out of the trolleybus and reported that an unknown man had cut him. After that, the suspect and his friends entered the trolleybus to investigate the situation.

As the boy noted, one of his acquaintances was carrying an air gun and initially pointed it at the man to scare him, and then handed the weapon to him. According to his own account, he demanded that the man get off the trolleybus, and after the man allegedly threatened him with a knife, he began shooting.

After the incident, the suspect and his acquaintances remained near the trolleybus until the police arrived.

The judge took into account that the suspect is a minor with no prior criminal record, is a student at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, lives with his mother and grandmother, and has a permanent place of residence. As a result, the judge ordered him to remain on his own recognizance until November 25.

As reported by Intent, the conflict began after a 46-year-old passenger reprimanded a group of young people who were swearing inside the trolleybus. An argument broke out between the man and one of the teenagers, which escalated into a shoving match.
