A man was found shot to death on Lustdorf Road in Odessa

In Odesa, law enforcement officers detained a man who, according to preliminary reports, may be involved in the death of another city resident. Investigators are currently determining what happened before the shooting and whether the individuals involved are connected.

According to police, a shooting occurred on the morning of September 30 on Lyustdorfskaya Road in the Kyivskyi District of Odesa. Law enforcement officers are conducting an investigation at the scene and determining the circumstances of the incident.

While on patrol, police officers found a man with gunshot wounds on the roadway. He was standing next to a Chevrolet, which he was likely driving.

Nearby, law enforcement officers detained the driver of a ZAZ Tavria, who had attempted to flee after the incident. Urgent investigative measures are currently being carried out with him.

An investigative and operational team from the local police unit and forensic experts from the regional police’s investigative department are currently working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and determining whether to enter the information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations.

Also in August, police tracked down a man who, nearly a year ago, shot and killed the founder of a charitable foundation at a playground in Odesa—and this happened by chance, during the investigation of an entirely different crime.

The murder suspect—a 19-year-old native of Kherson—was not identified immediately. Investigators spent a long time examining various possible motives, including potential debt-related issues between the victim and his acquaintances.
