In Crimea, electricity consumption has begun to be restricted due to "external influence"

Electricity consumption restrictions are in effect in occupied Crimea, and in the hardest-hit areas, power supply depends on the grid’s capacity.

This was reported on October 4 by the occupying company “Krymenergo.”

According to the occupation authority, power lines and electrical grid equipment are being shut down depending on the situation in specific power districts. The company stated that this is necessary to carry out repair work and relieve network overloads.

At the same time, “Krymenergo” noted that the areas most affected by “external influences” receive electricity depending on the grid’s technical capabilities. To this end, backup power supply schemes are being used.

The occupying company did not specify what exactly it means by “external influence” and did not report the causes of the damage to the energy infrastructure.

“Krymenergo” stated that power engineers are taking measures to restore a stable power supply to consumers.

Earlier, in occupied Crimea—amid a prolonged energy crisis and severe power outages—the Russian-controlled authorities continued to provide uninterrupted electricity to large-scale construction projects.

As a reminder, on July 12–13, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out massive strikes against the Kuban-Crimea power bridge, 10 power distribution hubs, and 5 air defense systems in Crimea.
