The High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed preventive measures on three suspects in the case of illegal departure of persons liable for military service abroad. The case concerns an organized group that operated within the judicial system and helped men get a deferral from mobilization through falsified court decisions.

This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

According to the court's decision, the chairman of the court, whom the investigation considers to be the organizer of the scheme, was granted a bail of UAH 3 million. The judge, who is also involved in the case, must post bail of UAH 2,013,620, and his assistant - UAH 787,000.

In addition, the suspects are prohibited from leaving the Odesa region without the permission of the investigation, they are obliged to report any change of residence or work, and cannot contact other suspects and witnesses in the case. They also have to hand over their passports to the migration service for safekeeping and wear an electronic control device. These obligations are set to last until April 26, 2025, and bail must be posted within five days of the decision.

According to the investigation, the criminal scheme operated according to a simple but effective scheme: court decisions on the alleged independent upbringing of the child were made without the participation of the parties, which allowed the men to obtain permission to travel abroad. The cost of such a "service" was $3,500. In total, 1040 such decisions were made.

Meanwhile, the judge of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of Odesa Region , Oleksandr Boyarskyi, was temporarily suspended from administering justice. He is involved in a case of draft evasion and transportation of persons liable for military service abroad.

Another judge in this court, Valentyn Zaveriukha, was also suspended.
