Heavy rain and strong winds caused damage in Odesa

In Odesa, a torrential downpour and strong winds caused 24 trees and large branches to fall. Municipal services have already cleared away nearly half of them.

This was reported by the Odesa City Council.

Employees of the municipal enterprises “ZhKS,” “MiskzelenTrust,” and “Miskie Dorogi” were called in to deal with the aftermath of the storm.

Meanwhile, the bad weather in Odesa continues. The City Council has urged residents to limit their movements on the streets, avoid parking cars under trees, and not leave them blocking storm drain grates.

According to the Hydrometeorological Center of the Black and Azov Seas, on September 21 in Odesa, thunderstorms and squalls with wind gusts of 15–20 meters per second were expected within the next 1–3 hours.

Thunderstorms were also forecast for the Odesa region, with squalls of 15–20 meters per second and hail in some areas. These hazardous conditions were expected to persist until the end of the day.

The Hydrometeorological Center issued a yellow danger alert.

On July 22, a heavy downpour accompanied by a thunderstorm swept through Odesa, causing streets to flood and disrupting traffic in some areas.

Themost difficultsituationarose on Balkivska Street, where, due to flooding near the bus station, traffic was temporarily restricted on the section from Malovskyi Street to Righteous Among the Nations Street (Chervonoslobodska).

Traffic was also halted onFrantsuzky Boulevardnear building No. 34, where city workers are removing a tree that was knocked down by the storm.
