The interim mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, has dismissed Yevhen Miroshnychenko from the post of director of the Municipal Guard.

The corresponding order was published by the press service of the Odesa City Council.

The order states that the dismissal took place in connection with the liquidation of the institution. The interim mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, dismissed Volodymyr Kharishchak, director of the Department of Municipal Security of the Odesa City Council.

The grounds for the dismissal were stated to be Volodymyr Kharishchak' s statement. The then mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, appointed Volodymyr Kharishchak to the position of Director of the Department of Municipal Security of Odesa City Council in April 2025.

It is worth noting that after the introduction of the city military administration in Odesa, municipal security has undergone changes. For example, the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, instructed to consider the possibility of hiring employees of the Municipal Guard from among the veterans who fought. On October 16, he said that he would meet with representatives of the Municipal Guard and would probably ask private security companies to leave the military administration's premises.

In October, the city of Odesa decided to liquidate the municipal institution "Municipal Guard". The authorities explained this by their desire to reduce budget expenditures and improve the efficiency of managing city resources.

At the same time, a commission was set up to do so, headed by the director of the institution, Yevhen Miroshnychenko. The commission also included his deputy , Oleksandr Deyneko, and the head of the HR and Legal Department, Ihor Prylypko.
