The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration , Oleksandr Prokudin, publicly stated that the work of the Transparency and Accountability working group was unsatisfactory. According to the head of the regional military administration, the activities of this body, which was created to control the use of budget funds, are currently ineffective.

He said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

The official emphasized the need to understand the reasons for this decline in efficiency. According to Prokudin, the key problem is the approach of law enforcement officers who are part of the group. Having full access to information on procurement, prices and cash flow, they should have identified risks at the planning stage.

However, as the head of the DIA noted, it is often not profitable for law enforcement to be proactive. Instead of asking questions before decisions are made, it is easier for them to open criminal proceedings after tenders are announced, even in the absence of actual expenses. Prokudin emphasized that such a pursuit of formal performance indicators replaces real prevention of losses to the state.

We remind you that this interagency group has been working in the region since October 2023. Its main task, as ordered by the executive branch, is to monitor and control the transparent use of budgetary resources.

Earlier, it also became known that the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption began checking the lifestyle of the first deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Council and MP from the Servant of the People party, Yuriy Sobolevsky.

The reason for this was an investigation by the Schemes project, where journalists found out that in one year, the official declared more than UAH 3.5 million in savings, mostly in foreign currency cash, without explaining their origin.

The article also emphasized that the lifestyle of the official's family - numerous trips and the use of premium cars - did not correspond to official income. The car in question is a Volkswagen Touareg worth about UAH 2 million, which is registered to a retired father-in-law whose official income would not allow him to buy such a car. In its response to journalists, the NACP noted that the data obtained would be taken into account when monitoring the official's lifestyle.
