Half a million scholarships for talented students awarded in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv has allocated half a million scholarships to students of local educational institutions. The decision is aimed at supporting and developing young talents in various fields.

This is evidenced by the decision of Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.

Mykolaiv City Council has announced scholarships for talented students studying at higher education institutions, vocational higher education institutions and vocational schools of the city. This decision is part of the targeted Youth Policy program.

According to the order, UAH 555,675 has been allocated for scholarships. The amount will be distributed among students as follows:

The scholarship is granted in accordance with the Regulations on the awarding of scholarships by the mayor and the city council, which was approved in 2021. The goal of the initiative is to support gifted youth and promote the development of science, culture, art and sports in the city.

Over the past three years, Mykolaiv has received UAH 10 billion for the education program. In 2024, Mykolaiv received over UAH 3 billion for the education program.

The total number of preschool education institutions in 2024 is 74, general secondary education - 68, out-of-school education - 7, vocational and professional higher education - 8.

In addition, Mykolaiv region fulfilled 81% of the regional order for enrollment in vocational education institutions. In total, 4,000 students were enrolled in vocational schools this year. Among those enrolled, 1,673 students were enrolled in Mykolaiv and 2,356 in the region.

Ukrainians can also receive a voucher for training in 16 more professions and 15 specialties that are currently in demand on the labor market. The Ministry of Economy has updated the list of professions and specialties for which a voucher can be issued, which now includes 95 professions and 60 specialties.
