A former head of a village council from occupied Crimea will stand trial for collaborating with the occupation authorities in Kherson region. According to the investigation, she agitated locals to join the army and helped to resettle Russian soldiers in abandoned houses.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation found that in October 2023, the 53-year-old woman voluntarily agreed to head the so-called "Novokyiv territorial department of the Kalanchak military-civilian administration of the Kherson region" created by the occupation authorities.

According to law enforcement, in her position, she coordinated the work of the illegal body and implemented the occupiers' policies in the social and educational spheres. She also received citizens and advised people on reissuing documents, property rights, registering their place of residence and receiving payments in accordance with Russian law.

In addition, the accused participated in propaganda events and gave interviews to pro-Russian media, where she openly supported the aggressor country. Investigators claim that she agitated residents to participate in a pseudo-referendum on the"accession" of Kherson region to Russia.

Also, according to the investigation, the woman helped to resettle the Russian military in the abandoned houses of residents who had left the occupation and urged the locals to sign contracts with the armed forces of the aggressor state to participate in the war against Ukraine.

As Intent wrote, in early April, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) served a notice of suspicion of aiding and abetting Russia to Halyna Perelovych, the head of the occupation administration of Kalanchak in Kherson region, a native of Crimea.

Prior to the occupation of Crimea, Perelovych was twice elected head of the Aromatne village council in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, starting in 2006. After the peninsula was seized by the Russian Federation, she sided with the occupiers: first she headed the occupation administration of Aromatne village, and at the end of 2014 she became the so-called head of Belogorsk district. At the end of 2022, she submitted her resignation from the position of the head of the occupation administration at her own request.
