Gennadiy Raskin, who previously worked in the mayor's office, has been appointed first deputy head of the Odesa military administration.

This was reported by the Dumskaya newspaper, citing its own sources.

Hennadiy Raskin graduated from Mechnikov Odesa National University in 2004 and from Odesa Regional Institute of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine in 2011.

He has been working in local government since 2005, starting as a chief specialist in the department of interaction with international investment organizations and technical assistance programs of the investment policy department of the Odesa City Hall.

He was also Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations - Head of the Department of Relations with the Odesa Diaspora, and headed the department in the municipal department of consumer market development and consumer protection.

He held the position of Deputy Head of Suvorov District Administration, Head of the Public Utilities Division of the Department of Municipal Economy, and was in charge of the Public Utilities and Fuel and Energy Divisions. He worked as the deputy head of the Malynovskyi district administration of Odesa.

On October 16, the new head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, was introduced in Odesa. The day before, President Zelensky announced the creation of the Odesa City Military Administration in an evening address, after which Lysak became the main contender for the position.

On October 14, Zelensky deprived Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, former MP Oleh Tsarev, and dancer Serhiy Polunin of Ukrainian citizenship. After that, he formally lost his powers as mayor.

Trukhanov himself denied having Russian citizenship, called the deprivation of his Ukrainian passport a political decision, and said he would appeal to international bodies to confirm his status.
