According to weather forecasters, the heat wave will continue on July 28 and 29, 2025. The air temperature is expected to rise to +40-42°C.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Center for Hydrometeorology.

"This is a natural meteorological phenomenon of the III (red) hazard level. We urge Kherson residents to avoid exposure to the sun during lunchtime, to observe the drinking regime and take care of children, the elderly and animals," the statement said.

According to the head of the Kherson Regional Center for Hydrometeorology, Yuriy Kiriyak, yesterday, July 27, the shadow temperature in Kherson was recorded at +39°C.

Later, forecasters predict that the temperature will drop.

"Starting from July 30-31, it will be a little cooler. An atmospheric front will pass. There may be slight precipitation. After July 30, the temperature will drop to 32-34°C for 3-4 days," the head of the center added.

"However," the head noted, "high temperatures will remain in Kherson region until the end of August."

The extreme heat has been affecting the health of residents of Mykolaiv region for several days in a row. People are fainting in the streets.

In Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, the prolonged heat and lack of rain have caused the condition of late crops to deteriorate. In some areas, crops had to be mowed or re-harvested due to wilting, disease spread and stunted growth.

In one village in Mykolaiv region, a dry grass fire spread to a private house.

However, some experts do not see the weather conditions as a major risk to the harvest. Although the abnormal heat affects the early grain harvest, it is not critical. This weather remains dangerous for late grains, sunflower and soybeans.
