Mykolaiv decided to spend almost a million hryvnias on bananas and oranges. The contract was awarded to a former parliamentary candidate.
This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Dimension with reference to the Prozorro e-procurement system.
By the end of 2024, it is planned to purchase 4,356 kilograms of first-grade oranges and 7,000 kilograms of bananas. The expected purchase price was UAH 991,736.
The tender was won by Point Food LLC, which signed a contract for the supply of fruit worth UAH 851 thousand.
According to the terms of the contract, the price of oranges is UAH 83.2 per kilogram, and bananas - UAH 69.81 per kilogram. At the same time, the retail price of oranges in stores is lower - about 72.95 UAH/kg, and the price of bananas, according to the Ministry of Finance, averages 58.92 UAH/kg.
Point Food was registered in Mykolaiv region in April 2024. Its owner is Serhiy Bulkin, a former candidate for parliament from the Batkivshchyna party.
The company has already received eight budget contracts totaling UAH 1.28 million.
Bulkin is also the founder of the Good Stor company, which actively cooperates with budgetary institutions, having concluded contracts worth more than UAH 22.57 million.
This company also supplied the most expensive beef to customers in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions for budgetary funds.
Earlier, the Mykolaiv Education Department signed a contract for catering in schools and kindergartens worth over UAH 60 million. The contract was traditionally awarded to the municipal production enterprise for catering in educational institutions.
And in Odesa, a tender was held to select a company that will supply meals for schoolchildren in 35 educational institutions. The procurement was conducted in the format of an open tender with special features, and the only participant was Fabrika Smaku. The company will receive more than UAH 10 million after the deal is concluded.
In August, the Government allocated funds to modernize school canteens for healthy nutrition of children. Mykolaiv and Odesa regions received UAH 272.9 million. The subvention is an important step in the modernization of infrastructure aimed at improving the nutritional conditions for students and teachers in schools. Mykolaiv region received UAH 132.7 million and Odesa region received UAH 140.2 million.
