A new batch of equipment has arrived in Mykolaiv to equip the future plant for recycling construction waste caused by the destruction caused by shelling by Russia.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

Currently, thanks to the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the city has received a trommel, a special equipment designed to sort fractions of inert materials.

This trommel is part of a large complex that we are building today. It will be operated by our municipal enterprise "ELU Avtodor", - said the mayor of the city Oleksandr Senkevych.

The mayor also thanked the people of Japan for their support in difficult times and expressed hope for further cooperation in the recovery of Mykolaiv and Ukraine as a whole.

Mykolaiv deputies approved the establishment of the waste sorting station in September. Once the sorting line is built, the amount of waste will be reduced by up to 30 percent. The residues that cannot be sorted will be buried at a local landfill.

Mykolaiv has received about 5 million euros worth of waste processing equipment. The aid was sent by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Three crushers are the main items among all the donations.

The U.S. Agency for International Development also donated international assistance for utilities that will be used for a construction waste storage site. This includes dust control devices, a semi-trailer and a chassis truck.

Equipment for recycling waste left over from the destruction after the Russian attacks began arriving in the city in early May. The special unit for grinding the destruction waste is arriving in parts because of its large dimensions. This will make it possible to assemble the unit, train citizens to work on it and then engage them in recycling the destruction waste.

Mykolaiv also received new equipment for solid waste collection. These are brand new garbage trucks, portal loaders and dump trucks. The equipment was delivered thanks to cooperation with international banking institutions and the Government of Ukraine.
