<span><span><span><span><span><span>This was reported by the Rivne Regional State Administration following a meeting with farmers from the Kherson region.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span> Dmytro Yunusov, head of the Department of Agricultural Development and Irrigation of the Kherson Region, also noted that Russian troops are destroying equipment, crops, and businesses in the region. And even the crops that manage to be grown under such conditions are difficult to transport out of dangerous regions due to logistical challenges.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Many farms are located 20–30 kilometers from the front lines. Because of this, farmers coordinate their routes with the military before heading out to the fields, and some tasks are performed while wearing body armor and helmets.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Since the war began, 17 farmers have been killed and more than 70 injured in the Kherson region. Last year, during the planting season, a Russian drone killed Oleksandr Gordienko —the father of Viktor Gordienko, head of the Kherson Region Association of Farmers and Private Landowners. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

Previously, occupying forces carried out nearly 2,000 drone attacks on the Kherson community in a single week. Over 90% of the drones were successfully intercepted or destroyed, but some of them still reached their targets.

Previously, farmers in the Kherson region received<span><span><span><span><span><span>237.5 million hryvnias </span></span></span></span></span></span>in government aid for damaged crops. These payments were calculated based on applications submitted in 2025. Under the terms of the program, agricultural producers working in areas of potential or active hostilities are eligible for compensation. The payment amount is up to 4,700 hryvnias per hectare of damaged crops, but not more than 2,000 hectares per farm.
