The Civil Court of Cassation has finally recognized as illegal and canceled the decision of the Odesa Regional Council to dismiss Vyacheslav Polyasnyi, director of the Odesa Regional Clinical Anticancer Center.

The court issued the relevant ruling on February 4 and took it for consideration in January 2026.

Last year, the Odesa Regional Court of Appeal also recognized the decision of the Odesa Regional Council to dismiss Vyacheslav Polyasnyi as illegal. However, the Court of Appeal refused to satisfy Vyacheslav Polyasnyi's demands for reinstatement and payment of his average salary for the period of forced absenteeism. So he appealed the decision to the Court of Cassation.

Deputies of the Odesa Regional Council voted to dismiss Vyacheslav Polyasnyi , CEO of the Odesa Regional Clinical Antitumor Center, and Tetiana Papizh , CEO of the Odesa Regional Bureau of Forensic Medicine, in March 2023. However, because Viacheslav Polyasnyi was serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the time, it was decided to dismiss him the day after his demobilization.

So the deputies made a fundamental decision to distrust him as a leader. In particular, he was accused of having written an incorrect prescription and prescribed the wrong dosage.

In 2023, after a journalist investigation, the Odesa Cancer Center regained its premises: officials were accused of distributing buildings.

Also, after the CPR investigation, the head of the Odesa Regional Medical Association, Oleh Kiper , replaced the chief physician of the Odesa Regional Clinical Antitumor Center of the Odesa Regional Council.

In addition, the municipal non-profit enterprise Odesa Regional Clinical Antitumor Center of the Odesa Regional Council held a tender to select a contractor who will be paid for the overhaul of some specialized premises for remote radiation therapy.
