Dentist of the occupation medical unit convicted in Kherson region

The court sentenced <b>32-year-old Volodymyr Gerasymenko</b> for collaborating with the Russian occupation administration. The collaborator was sentenced to <b>13 years in prison</b>.

This is stated in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

The investigation found that on May 23, 2022, 32-year-old Gerasymenko voluntarily headed the 'medical department' in the illegal occupation structure - the 'Department of the Penitentiary Service in the Kherson region'. Prior to the full-scale invasion, he worked as a dentist in Kherson penal colony #90.

In court, witnesses confirmed his work for the occupiers, noting that they had seen Gerasimenko at his workplace. His name was also on the staff list of the seized colony, where he was listed as the 'head of the medical service'.

In addition to the main sentence, the court imposed an additional punishment on Gerasimenko: a ban on holding public office for 14 years and confiscation of all property. He was found guilty under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The verdict has not yet entered into force. It is known that in the fall of 2022, the man fled from Kherson.

The former businesswoman from Kherson region became a deputy of the occupation council from Putin's United Russia party. She was found guilty of collaboration and sentenced to imprisonment. The court found in absentia a deputy of the occupation council of the Kalanchak municipal district of Kherson region guilty of collaboration.

According to the investigation, in September 2023, she took office as a deputy from the United Russia party after illegal elections in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. Later, she headed the so-called Commission on Social Affairs, Legality and Deputy Ethics.

Witnesses said that before the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country, they knew her through their joint activities of growing and selling vegetables. One of the witnesses noted that he had seen the accused arrive with her husband and the Russian military to conduct propaganda activities.
