The Standing Committee of the Odesa City Council on Planning, Budget and Finance has agreed to submit the issue of amendments to the community budget to the session.
According to Oleksiy Potapsky, chairman of the commission, the amendments provide for a reduction in general fund expenditures by UAH 34 million, mainly by adjusting the payroll.
The Department of Municipal Security proposed to allocate an additional UAH 9 million for the installation of intelligent systems for recognizing drivers' faces and license plates at the entrances to the city. The commission supported the request, but the deputies reminded that they had previously allocated UAH 12 million for similar measures under the Safe City program.
They also approved the redistribution of 194.5 thousand hryvnias in the healthcare sector and agreed to allocate 238.1 thousand hryvnias for the Department of Labor and Social Policy, subject to the creation of a new Department for Veterans' Affairs.
In addition, the Peresypsk District Administration requested permission to use UAH 800 thousand of the remaining balance in the design and estimate documentation to equip a ramp as part of the barrier-free program. The deputies also approved changes to the deputy fund and, together with the Department of Municipal Security, considered adjustments to the city target program "Safe City of Odesa" for 2020-2028. The total amount of additional funding proposed by the budget committee is UAH 19 million, including support for the Armed Forces.
Meetings of the permanent deputy commissions to consider issues that may be submitted to the deputies for consideration at the sessions begin immediately after the city council session to prepare issues for the next one, and Intent monitors these meetings.
There are 12 standing committees in the Odesa city council, but as of February 22, 2025, the standing committee on culture, tourism and international relations and the standing committee on regulations, deputy ethics and corruption prevention cannot make decisions, as they currently have less than three deputies.
