Cabinet of Ministers allocates 2 billion to compensate owners of ships damaged by Russia in Odesa region

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a budget to pay compensation to owners and charterers of vessels affected by Russian shelling of Odesa region ports in the amount of UAH 2 billion.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

Charterers or operators or owners of inland navigation vessels flying the flag of Ukraine and flags of foreign countries other than Russia or Belarus can receive compensation. Also, Russians and Belarusians should not be among the founders and ultimate beneficiaries of the companies that own these vessels. In addition, vessels whose owners are under sanctions will not receive compensation.
