The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has begun preparations for the sale of the seized dry cargo ship EMMAKRIS III. The ship is owned by a company from the Russian Federation and is currently in the port of Chornomorsk.

This was reported by the Asset Recovery and Management Agency.

Based on the results of an inspection and assessment, the vessel’s technical condition was deemed satisfactory. Experts noted that, thanks to its substantial size, it can be effectively used as a floating grain storage facility for the storage and transshipment of dry cargo.

The ARMA website noted that this type of operation could be relevant for the logistics and transportation sectors, given the need for additional capacity to handle grain and other bulk cargoes.

Key specifications of the EMMAKRIS III:

The vessel was previously owned by a company registered in Rostov-on-Don. In April 2023, the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv ruled to seize and transfer the Russian company’s frozen assets to the ARMA for management.

Currently, the agency is carrying out all necessary procedures to conduct a transparent auction, which will allow for the generation of additional funds for Ukraine’s state budget.

In June 2025, ARMA reported an attempt to illegally remove the seized vessel EMMAKRIS III—which is under the management of the private enterprise “Marinex”—from Ukraine.
