The National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) has reported an attempt to illegally remove from Ukraine the arrested vessel EMMAKRIS III, which is managed by the private enterprise Marinex.

According to the ARMA, the agency found numerous violations on the part of the manager, including: failure to fulfill the terms of the contract, failure to fulfill obligations to fill the state budget and self-removal from fulfilling duties in terms of preserving the asset.

"After the order was issued, the manager ignored the requirements and attempted to illegally remove the vessel, which contradicts the court decision. Thanks to ARMA's intervention, the vessel remained in the port of Ukraine. The situation was critical: the crew abandoned the vessel, thus confirming their criminal intentions," ARMA said.

The ARMA said that given the scale of the vessel (215 meters long), the high costs of its maintenance and the unjustified loss of time, the best option is to sell it.

In August 2024, the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) announced the selection of a manager for the confiscated dry cargo vessel EMMAKRIS III. The vessel is moored at one of the berths in the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa region.

Meanwhile, the Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv handed over to the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes (ARMA) the Russian-linked vessel detained in the Danube River.

Earlier, the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) held an auction for the sale of the Nika Spirit vessel seized in Izmail, Odesa region.

Four limited liability companies took part in the auction: "Alfa Group 77, Inter Metcom, Mettrans Service, and Good Group. The winner was Alfa Group 77 LLC. The company offered UAH 6 million 425 thousand. According to the YouControl service, Alfa Group 77 LLC was registered in 2016 in Kremenchuk, Poltava region. The owner is Vitaliy Marchenko.

The tanker Nika Spirit (formerly known as Neyma) was detained on July 24, 2019, in the port of Izmail. According to the international information system Equasis, the vessel was identified as the one used to block the Kerch Strait in November 2018.
