An industrial facility caught fire in the Odesa region following a Russian attack

A fire broke out at one of the industrial facilities in the Odesa region as a result of enemy shelling.

This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

There is no information on casualties or fatalities. Starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 9 and continuing throughout the night, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 137 Shahed-type strike drones, Gerber, and Italmas, as well as “Banderole” loitering munitions and “Parody”-type decoy drones. According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had neutralized 114 enemy drones—including Shahed, Gerber, Italmas, and other types—in the north, south, and east of the country. Hits by 18 attack drones were recorded at 16 locations, and downed drones were found at four locations.

A day of mourning for those killed in the Russian missile attack was declared in Odesa on July 9. The enemy launched a ballistic missile strike on the evening of July 8. Four people were killed and seven others were injured; six of them were hospitalized, and two are in extremely critical condition. In addition to the infrastructure facility, the area around a gas station was also damaged. A minibus and a fuel pump caught fire there. Rescue workers extinguished all the fires.

The day before, the numberof people injured by the Russian ballistic missile strike on the evening of July 7 ultimately reached10, including three women. Eight people were hospitalized, mostly with shrapnel and lacerations. Doctors describe the condition of one of them as serious. On the evening of July 7, the Russian Armed Forces attacked civilian targets in Odesawith aballisticmissileequipped with a cluster warhead.

In particular, industrial facilities and cargo trucks were damaged. The number of casualties became clear gradually; initially, three were reported, but the final count turned out to be higher. Also, on the night of July 8, the enemy launched another attack on the Izmail district—not all targets were neutralized.
