The number of people injured in the Russian ballistic missile strike on the evening of July 7 ultimately reached 10.
This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
According to him, three of the victims are women. Eight people have been hospitalized, mostly with shrapnel wounds and lacerations. Doctors describe the condition of one of them as critical.
On the evening of July 7, the Russian Armed Forces launched a ballistic missile with a cluster warhead at civilian targets in Odesa. In particular, industrial facilities and cargo trucks were damaged. The number of casualties became clear gradually; initially, three were reported, but it eventually turned out to be higher.
Also, on the night of July 8, the enemy launched another attack on the Izmail district—not all targets were neutralized.
In total, starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 7, the enemy attacked Ukraine with two Kh-31P anti-radar missiles, five Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, 169 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerber, and Italmas types, and decoy drones of the “Parody” type. According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m. on July 8, air defense forces had neutralized 139 enemy UAVs—including Shahed, Gerber, Italmas, and other types—in the north, south, and east of the country.
Five Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles were recorded striking four locations, and 20 attack drones struck 11 locations; debris from downed drones was also found at seven locations. in addition, two X-31P anti-radar missiles failed to reach their targets.
On the night of July 6, Odesa was also attacked by Russiandrones, resulting in injuries to a 23-year-old man. The attack damaged high-rise residential buildings—where windows were shattered—a parking lot with garages, and a private residential house, where a fire broke out. On the same day, in the Odesa district, three private residential buildings were damaged as a result of enemy shelling involving a cruise missile. A child—a boy aged 3 years and 11 months—was injured. He was hospitalized at a children’s hospital. Doctors assessed the boy’s condition as moderate.
On the night of July 4, the Odesa region was alsotargetedby another attack by Russian forces, which left two people injured. The attack caused a fire in a warehouse storing food products. Nearby warehouse buildings were also damaged. Rescue workers extinguished the fires that broke out at the site of the strike.
On July 1, the Odesa region also came under enemy fire, resulting in casualties and destruction. However, on that occasion, the enemy used a ballistic missile. Two peoplewere killedin the attack. Another 13 people were injured, 11 of whom were hospitalized.
