In August, agricultural producers received compensation for agricultural machinery and equipment purchased in July worth UAH 61.6 million. Mykolaiv region is among the leaders in terms of the number of applications.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

According to the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenka, over the four months of this program, farmers have received UAH 152.6 million in compensation for purchased agricultural machinery and equipment made in Ukraine.

The program, in addition to supporting farmers, is also a tool for the development of Ukrainian machine building, as it stimulates an increase in the number of domestic agricultural machinery manufacturers. The program currently includes 121 manufacturers, and the number of products includes more than 11,000 items.

"Compensation for 25% of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery is an important component of the 'Made in Ukraine' policy aimed at supporting production, so we have budgeted UAH 1 billion for this program this year," said Yulia Svyrydenko.

"The largest number of applications for compensation for purchased agricultural machinery and equipment were submitted in the following regions: Poltava - 69, Kirovohrad - 63, Mykolaiv - 54, Cherkasy, Dnipro, Odesa - 42, Sumy - 39, Ternopil - 38.

Over the past four months, farmers have received compensation:

In total, agricultural enterprises have purchased 859 units of machinery and equipment made in Ukraine worth UAH 913.6 million since the program's inception.

The reimbursement is made in the amount of 25 percent of the total price through public funds. This can be done through banks that provide this service. A total of 31 banks currently operate under this program in Ukraine.

The list of equipment, dealers who sell this equipment, and manufacturing plants are all defined by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and posted on the official website. Currently, there are more than 6,000 items of agricultural machinery.

In addition, farmers in Mykolaiv region received UAH 32.6 million in grants to modernize irrigation systems. In addition, there is government support for the development of irrigation. Those farmers who have restored or built reclamation systems are reimbursed 50% of the cost of the equipment, but not more than UAH 26 thousand per hectare.
